Art therapy is a creative therapeutic practice that uses art-making as a powerful tool for self-expression, healing, and personal growth. At Odd Brush Collective, we believe that art can help process emotions, explore identity, and navigate life’s challenges in ways words often cannot. Rooted in curiosity and creativity, our approach is designed to support artists and creative souls by fostering a non-judgmental space where the artistic process leads to insight, transformation, and connection.

I’m Kristy Lannan, a professional art therapist and member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association, working toward registration. I bring a rich and diverse background to my practice, with a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication, a diploma in Performing Arts, and years of experience in motion graphics, animation, and creative facilitation. My journey to art therapy grew from witnessing how creativity can help people reconnect with their authentic selves and from my own exploration of using art to find balance and meaning.

As an art therapist, I specialize in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. My approach blends a deep respect for the creative process with trauma-informed and anti-oppressive principles. Together, we’ll start a conversation through art, exploring the metaphors and meanings that emerge to help you navigate life’s complexities. Whether it’s painting, drawing, digital tools, or a medium you’ve never tried before, I encourage play and curiosity to guide our work. Let’s discover what your creativity is telling you and how it can support your next steps.
